Foggy lake scene with bare trees lining the shore. A striking red patch of liquid floats on the water's surface, creating a haunting mood.

Hi there, and welcome to our little corner of the internet!

We're Loretta & David Allseitz, Texas-based authors with a deep love for crime fiction, psychological thrillers, and the kind of small-town mysteries that simmer just beneath the surface. If you’ve ever stood at the edge of a quiet lake and felt like it was keeping secrets—you’re in the right place.

After years of scribbling ideas in notebooks, swapping plot twists over coffee with my husband David (a truck driver with more road stories than I can count), and dreaming up characters who feel as real as neighbors, I finally took the leap and published my debut novel: Teardrops of Lake Tawakoni. It’s a suspenseful dive into a lakeside town haunted by addiction, vigilante justice, and a carved symbol that won’t stop showing up on the bodies.

This blog is where I’ll share behind-the-scenes glimpses into my writing process, updates on upcoming books, reflections on life in our cozy cabin, and maybe a few thoughts on storytelling, justice, and the strange beauty of small-town life.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m so glad you’re here—and I hope you’ll stay awhile.

Until the next body drops,

-Loretta & David Allseitz
