OBSERVATIONS / INCIDENT LOG
ROOM 1 — MIRROR RITUAL INCIDENT REPORT #77
Location: Guest Bathroom Mirror Installation (Standard Fixture, Pre-Existing)
Reported By: Night Shift Desk (Unverified Entry)
Classification: “Repeated Behavioral Anomaly / Reflection Distortion Event”
SUMMARY
Room 1 continues to generate the highest volume of ritual-related disturbances in the building.
Despite multiple warnings, laminated notices, and one employee physically removing the bathroom mirror (which was later found reinstalled), guests continue attempting the so-called mirror exercise.
Official instruction remains unchanged:
Say: “Help me check out.”
Repeat three (3) times while facing the mirror.
What follows is no longer considered consistent across reports.
INCIDENT TIMELINE (COMPILED FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES)
Attempt One (01:13 AM)
Guest complies once.
Lights flicker briefly. Bathroom fan slows.
Mirror remains normal.
Guest leaves laughing nervously.
Attempt Two (02:47 AM)
Guest repeats phrase twice.
Third repetition is never logged.
Hallway camera shows guest standing still for 11 minutes after exiting bathroom, staring at their hands like they’re unfamiliar.
Housekeeping note: “soap looked used but wasn’t wet.”
Attempt Three (03:22 AM)
Guest completes full three repetitions.
Mirror fogs instantly, despite dry conditions
Reflection delays by approximately 1.7 seconds
Sink water runs backwards for 4 seconds
Door to Room 1 is reported “open but also not opening” depending on witness
At 03:24 AM, guest exits bathroom and asks front desk:
“Which one of me checked out?”
No staff answered directly. No staff agree they were asked.
Attempt Four (Unscheduled / Not Logged)
Occurred during maintenance inspection.
Technician reports mirror was already fogged with writing:
HELP ME CHECK OUT
Technician denies having spoken aloud during inspection.
Mirror later cleared itself when staff stopped looking at it.
ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS
Mirrors in Room 1 reflect hallways that do not exist in physical layout
Guests report hearing a third voice only when standing between sink and door
Towels occasionally folded into shapes resembling ID badges
Clock resets to 11:11 when ritual is attempted after midnight
One guest claimed the mirror “blinked first”
STAFF GUIDANCE (UPDATED)
Do not verbally acknowledge mirror activity
Do not correct guest phrasing of ritual
Do not replace mirror more than once per shift
If reflection appears before guest enters bathroom, log immediately and leave room empty for 30 minutes minimum
FINAL NOTE
Room 1 is not classified as restricted.
However, occupancy after midnight has been reduced “for guest comfort.”
This wording was approved by management.
