Filed by: Loretta & David Smitty
Location: Crouse Family Dairy, Tyler, Texas
Date: November 20, 2025
Case Status: Active Investigation
Witness Statement
At 3:00 a.m. on the morning of the murder, Clint Dyer’s truck was seen idling near the dairy.
Witness: Marlene Givens, neighbor.
Statement: “I saw headlights near the milking shed. Thought it was Hal, but the truck was Clint’s. I know that engine rattle anywhere.”
Clint says he was checking his own cattle. Says one of his steers broke through the fence.
Timeline Conflict
Hal’s body was discovered at 5:12 a.m.
Cows were distressed, suggesting trauma occurred hours earlier.
No signs of forced entry—killer knew the layout.
Investigator’s Note
Clint’s feud with Hal over water rights ran deep. He claims he was on his own land, but the witness places him near the shed.
He’s got motive. He’s got proximity. What he doesn’t have is an alibi.
