Evidence Drop
At 2:19 p.m., we recovered a broken pitchfork behind the shed—tool head intact, handle snapped clean. No blood. No prints. Just discarded in the straw like it didn’t matter.
At 3:47 p.m., we searched Jessie Morales’ truck. In the bed, tucked under a feed sack, we found the missing handle.
Wood grain matches the splinters embedded in Hal Crouse’s skull. No blood on the handle. No prints. But it’s a match.
Jessie says the pitchfork broke last week during a feed run. Claims he tossed the handle in the truck and forgot.
Scene Observations
Handle broken clean at the base.
Tool head and handle recovered separately—intentional separation likely.
No signs of rust or weathering—break is fresh.
Investigator’s Note
The killer didn’t just use a farm tool. They staged it. Left the head behind the shed like trash, planted the handle in Jessie’s truck like bait.
Reader Assignment
Clue #2 is on the table. Was Jessie sloppy, or is someone framing the farmhand? Submit your theory. Next post, we track Clint Dyer’s truck sighting at 3 a.m.
